Lauren Johnson is an artist who works primarily with Acrylic on Wood.
Focusing on the conversation between ‘Paint and Painter’.

Allowing the paint its own choice of seat, documenting personal surroundings focused on the idea of ‘The Object’. Building on sensation and memory inside an imagined framework. Characterising and confronting this, in juxtaposition with collage, colour and texture. Johnson works without primary sketching and prefers to feel as though the images are sculpted forward, toying with dark, dull tone in partnership with brash primary colour. Thus constructing the works “sticker-like” quality, creating that flatness which feels it could still, be dived into.
